Markdown versions of documentation pages are available by appending `.md` to page URLs; this page is available as [Markdown](https://samypesse.gitbook.io/algolia-faq/configuration-and-relevance/can-you-provide-a-list-of-common-synonyms.md).

# Can you provide a list of common synonyms?

Unfortunately, no.

Synonyms are very specific to every use case, but are also specific to the format of your data. If we were to provide a list of synonyms, it would most likely be irrelevant, and sometimes harmful for the relevance of your results. We generally advise to add synonyms on a case-by-case basis, generally after having configured the rest of the relevance-related settings.
